Craps is very popular among casino games, but studying the game can prove difficult due to the terminology involved. Terms such as “right bettors” and “wrong bettors” can be confusing, as they are not used in their literal sense. In order to explain these an understanding of general craps terms is needed.
To use the example of the pass line bet: The shooter rolls the dice at the beginning of a new come out, and will automatically win if the throw is a 7 or an 11, or lose if it a 2, 3 or 12. Any other number thrown is then established as a point. The shooter now tries to throw point before a 7, if the shooter throws a 7 before the point then the shooter loses. Right bettors are the ones who bet that the shooter win and
wrong bettors bet the shooter will lose. Although there is no shooter in online casino craps the concept remains the same, simply wagering on the pass line bet.
Several other bets in craps use the concept of right bettors and wrong bettors. Such as the buy and lay bets, as well as come and don’t come bets. With right bettors being those who wager on the come bets and wrong bettors being those who wager on the don’t come bets.
Generally speaking, right bettors are the more common (at least in land-based casinos) and this is probably the origin of the term.
